Valencian Figurita Pigeon : Types | History & Standard | Breeding | Complete Facts

History of Valencian Figurita pigeon:

The Valencian Figurita pigeon is a Spanish fancy breed. It originated in Valencia, Spain, and was developed over many years of careful breeding.

The Valencian Figurita and Italian Owl Club in the United States, the Figurita Club Nederland in the Netherlands, and the Figurita-Movchen-Club Deutschland in Germany are all advocates for the breed.

The Valencian Figurita is mostly a show bird, yet it performs admirably in flight. The Tunisian and Syrian Owls are thought to be the Figuritas’ closest relatives, with striking resemblances.

It is a very old breed that has been around for hundreds of years. The Moors are said to have introduced these birds or their predecessors during their occupancy (which ended in 1492).

The breed was given its name because of its sparkling eyes. The word ‘Figurita’ means ‘dainty’ or ‘petite,’ which fits this bright-eyed bird perfectly.

Valencian Figurita pigeon breeding:

The Valencian Frill isn’t aggressive, yet they haven’t easily pushed aside. It is not a difficulty to keep the breed with other partners or breeds.

Breeding of Valencian Frills can begin as early as the end of March or early April, when the nights are no longer frosty. Valencian Frills are excellent parents, staying close to the nest and feeding their own young.

During the mating season, the Cock shows a lot more spirit, pursuing his hen until the eggs are in the nest. The beaks are an issue; they must not develop any smaller to avoid feeding issues with their young.

When mating begins in early March, there will be adequate time for three to four breeding rounds, resulting in six to eight young per couple.

The Valencian Frill is highly sought after, and the breed is popular. There is no imminent danger of overproduction, which allows for greater selection and still provides good material for new breeders.

Keeping cap in kinds in your loft will allow you to mate smaller men to somewhat larger ladies for faster egg production, as well as determining the size of the offspring for exhibitions and future stock birds.

Breed characteristics:

We still see a variety of sorts at the exhibitions. On a global scale, they are divided into two types: French and Spanish.

The French Valencian Frills are more horizontal in position than the French Valencian Frills, which have more rounded heads and are classified as somewhat elevated in the French standard. Aside from that, they’re also bigger.

The Valencian Frills of Spain feature an angular, trapezium-shaped head with a beak that follows the lowering front headline. These birds are typically well-positioned erect, with the vertical line from the eye ending just before the legs.

It is forbidden for the tail to touch the ground. These are frequently the tiniest sorts.

They’re teeny-tiny and flirtatious. The pigeon’s tiny stature is emphasised by its flights, which almost reach the tail’s end. It has a relatively large and spherical breast, with separate and visibly carried wing butts, despite being a little pigeon.

With a straight descending back and tail line, the stance is lifted in a proud attitude. A drop line from the eyes angles to the floor level right in front of the legs, and the neck is carried backwards. The Valencian Frill stands on its toes when in action.

Valencian Figurita pigeon diet:

The fancy pigeon’s food is usually made up of a simple commercial mix complemented with greens which are high in nutrients and considered to be extremely suited.

Lettuce, spinach and chickweed  are some of the greens that could be included in this list. Apple and pear are some of the fruits that your bird can consume.

We can utilise a canary mix or  a budgie to make a smaller version of pigeons and doves. The smaller bird, on the other hand, would love millet spray.

Seed-alone diets, specially developed diets such as extruded  and commercial mixtures containing legumes, cereals and different seeds are the only foods available for your fancy pigeon.

Supplements are required for adequate nutrition in both seed-only diets and commercial mixtures.

Formulated diets may create loose stools, even though they contain some of the similar nutrients as commercial combinations. The problem is caused by the utilisation of molasses, however, it is no longer a concern as  it is no longer added.

Gravel and grit: The grit and the little stones, will aid in the blizzard’s grinding of tougher seed.

Vitamins can be given Once a week, they could be added in water or even sprinkle over the food in a dry configuration.

Calcium could also be given to the smaller birth through oyster shell and cuttlebone.

Freshwater is the utmost necessity of your birds, the pigeon and birls first suck it and then swallow it up.
